India House
Built in the Renaissance palazzo style in the mid-19th Century, the India House at 1 Hanover Square originally housed the Hanover Bank. It has been the headquarters of a variety of businesses, including tobacco importers, the New York Cotton Exchange, and the National Foreign Trade Council. Today, the basement level is the home of the iconic Wall St bar and restaurant Harry's of Hanover. We worked with legendary restauranteur Harry and his son Peter Poulakakos to restore the front and sides of the building.
This work won the Landmarks Conservancy award given by the New York Landmarks Conservancy in 2005 and still looks great today.
